Taking the right precautions before you leave on your trip and while on the road will help minimize the risk of getting sick.  Yet despite even the best preparations, if you travel for long enough you will most likely catch something.  There are simple things to know, and some not so simple depending on your destination.  Chances are you will just end one of the 20% of travellers who contract some sort of minor ailment while on the road (typically traveller’s diarrhoea).

Aside from that, careful planning should help you enjoy your trip without panicking about risks to your health.

Instead of serious illness,  accidents on dodgy transport or incidents involving alcohol or drugs are more common (not dissimilar to home!).

Have a read through this section for travel health advice before you go and on the road.

Enjoy and safe travels!!
